Hi, I’m Frank Ta, a commercial food, beverage, and creative portrait photographer based in Alhambra, Los Angeles.

For brands and agencies, I don't just photograph a product—I solve visual problems. I specialize in capturing the heartbeat of food culture, emphasizing vibrant, natural ingredient colors and documenting the genuine, joyful expressions of people tasting incredible food and drink. Behind the camera, my visual style relies on precise studio lighting to add deliberate depth, emotion, and organic warmth to every frame.

My portrait work is grounded in a natural, editorial approach. Instead of forced poses, I focus on capturing real personality, authentic expressions, and memorable moments frozen in time. Whether photographing a chef in their element, an artist in their studio, or a client looking to tell their story, I use light to elevate the subject's true character without making it feel over-staged.

When I’m not tweaking lighting grids in the studio, you can usually find me practicing Jiu-Jitsu, balancing out on a yoga mat, or cheering on the Dodgers. I’m a passionate explorer of food and culture—whether I'm hunting for the best sushi and Korean BBQ in LA, mixing up a new craft cocktail at home, or drawing inspiration from my travels through Japan, Italy, and France. Guided by a simple philosophy—if it’s broken, fix it—I bring a proactive, problem-solving energy to every single set.
